Designer Wedding Cakes

A custom Whippt wedding cake typcially starts at $500, with pricing increasing based on design, size, complexity, handcrafted details, and the time involved in creating your one-of-a-kind edible showpiece. Many of our most elaborate multi-tier designs start around $2,000 and can exceed $3,000, depending on their size and level of extravagance.

As a general guideline, a tiered wedding cake, in natural, white buttercream, without any additional embellishments, will start at approximately $8/slice, (ie. 100ppl = starting at approx $800).

Embellishments such as; fondant, fresh or sugar flowers, metallic accents, textured finishes, piped detailing, stenciling, etc., are all additional.

Our standard single-tier wedding cakes feature 3 layers of cake and stand approximately 5 inches tall. Custom tier heights are also available and include options like short tiers (around 3"), extra tall tiers (about 7"), and dramatic double barrel tiers (up to 10"). We love playing with varying heights to enhance the artistry and visual impact of your cake design.

Will your cake be served as:
- the main dessert course for your guests?
- later in the evening, following a separate dessert course with dinner?

This detail helps us recommend the right cake size for your serving needs. If you're serving the cake later in the evening, after a separate dessert with dinner, we suggest planning for about half of your guests to have a slice.

Our wedding cake servings are based on 1x1x5" slices. An approximate servings is provided with every quote.

*Please note, each venue/caterer has a different style of slicing wedding cake. It is important to also account for some waste as pieces cut around a dowel, or at the edge of the cake, are often not used.

Tiered wedding cake pricing includes one cake flavour for all tiers to start, but you’re welcome to add additional flavours for $30 each.

Wedding Cake Taster Boxes are available at any time during your planning process and can be ordered here on our online shop -Order Now. Each box includes mini slices of 5 different cake flavours of your choosing from our Signature menu. Serves 2 people, (10 total mini slices per box / 2 per flavour).

In-store consultations are not available at this time. We are happy to correspond together over email to finalize the details of your wedding order.

Whippt Kitchen offers full wedding delivery and setup service within Calgary for orders of $250 or more, and to Canmore and Banff for orders of $1,000 or more. *Please note: the minimum spend does not include delivery or setup fees. Delivery with setup is quoted separately and is subject to availability.

We recommend beginning the formal quote process and correspondence approximately 6 months before your wedding date. In our experience, this timeline ensures that key details—such as your venue, meal and dessert service plans, and floral or design direction—are well established. Having these elements in place is important before investing the time and attention required to prepare a detailed and accurate wedding cake estimate.

That said, we strongly recommend reserving your date with us in advance of this to ensure availability, especially during peak wedding season. Securing your date early guarantees your spot in our calendar while you finalize the details and establish your wedding style.

Too early to talk details, or not sure what you want for your wedding yet, but want to make sure your date doesn't get filled? No problem ~ A $200 down deposit can be made to Reserve the Date, securing Whippt for the baking of your wedding cake and/or dessert sweetscape for your date. All we need to know at this time is your venue location and date. Further details are then confirmed as the date nears, and the full amount of the reservation is put against the balance of your wedding order.
